AGM

Thanks to all 26 members who turned up for the AGM on 17th November. That is about half the club and must be close to a record.
The 2005 committee was re-elected and will be joined by Antony Redding and Alan Reynolds. I stay on as Secretary and John Warner remains as Treasurer. (A full list of committee members and their jobs is posted on the web, following the elections for Chairman etc. which were held at the committee meeting on 1st December).
The two notified changes to the constitution were agreed at the AGM, with the one regarding disposal of funds in the event of a winding-up being amended to favour club-supported charities.
Mrs. Anne Powell is again our President and we welcome a new Vice-President, Mr. Tim Weston, who replaces Ken Boyce. Our thanks to Ken.

New Member

We welcome the following new member: John Cross who has re-joined after a short absence
We are now up to 56 including eight juniors. There are three or four more potential members in the pipeline.

Training

Sorry if I gave a wrong start time for the Saturday sessions. They start at 12.00 noon.
For the next few weeks the weekday session will be on Wednesdays from 1.00pm, not Tuesdays. We have managed to hold a couple of sessions despite the weather. To try and avoid wasted trips we have set up a cascade system to notify people of cancellations (unless the reason is obvious!). Gerald Matthews, Geoff King and Colin Clark have kindly agreed to pass the message when necessary.

Noise tests

The noise meters are currently away being calibrated and I will keep them at home over winter to protect them from damp. If you need a noise test contact a committee member in the first instance. Please make sure you give adequate notice of your requirements.

The field

The sheep are a bit late coming back but should be there in the next week or so. Remember to be very careful when the field is wet. If in doubt do not drive on.
If you are aware of any flying taking place near where you live or especially anywhere in range of our field perhaps you would let me know. The committee is a little concerned at the possibility of interference from "unofficial" sites.

Members' Handbook and Membership renewals

The handbook has been updated and will be re-issued to all members with 2006 membership renewals. This newsletter serves as your invitation to renew your membership for a further year. Club fees are unchanged thanks to the AGM vote, while BMFA fees are up by £2 for adults and £1 for juniors. The scale of fees for 2006 will therefore be:
Seniors:Club £26 pa,BMFA £26 pa,Total £52
Juniors:Club £11 pa,BMFA £14 pa,Total £25
Family Junior: Club £5.50 pa BMFA £10 pa, Total £15.50
( Enrolment fee for new members £10 )

Enclosed is a form (sorry!) for you to complete and return to me with your renewal. This serves to implement the AGM decision to publish to members (by agreement) a list of members' names and telephone numbers (adults only) and also allows us to carry out an audit of the information we have about you. Please fill this in and return it promptly to ensure continuity of membership and insurance. When supplying your preferred frequency please do not send a list of seven or eight as one person did! Choose one or two.
