HMAC Newsletter No 2007/6
8th November 2007

Bernard Morris

Hello all,
This newsletter is primarily to give you details of the AGM but there are one or two bits of "usual business" first.

Membership

We welcome new member Ian Niven of Weston-under-Penyard who joined the Club in September. The committee has now re-introduced the waiting list for any non-qualified applicants as there are still several members under training and we would rather not offer membership without the ability to offer training where necessary.

The Field

At the time of writing the sheep are back on the field so it is very important to ensure the electric fence is put back correctly after each session. Because someone did not put it back correctly sheep have already got on to the strip. Please DO NOT allow the fencing wire to come into contact with one of the metal posts. If it does, the fence is useless! If there are any problems with the fence please inform a committee member.

Mobile telephones

To avoid the risk of interference with transmitters, especially those with microprocessors, the Club has a rule banning the USE of mobiles within 5 metres of a transmitter. As mobiles are constantly transmitting signals that means they should not be switched on within 5 metres. To be sure, leave them in the car.

Now, the AGM

The club's 40th Annual General Meeting is to be held on 29th November at 8.00pm at the Royal Oak in the Function Room. The agenda for the meeting has been sent to all members, together with details of a proposed change to the constitution and of the nomination of Gerald Matthews as an additional committee member.
All Club members are invited to the AGM and all Club members who are aged over 18 and are current members of the BMFA are entitled to vote.
Next year's subscriptions are set at the AGM so be there to cast your vote.

See you soon,

Bernard Morris
